Museum of the Order of St. John copy has several bookseller notes on first flyleaf (verso): "First edition" [pencil], "Livre très amusant à cause de l'ignorance profonde de l'auteur, véritable Capucin" [ink], "The portrait of the author is before the 'privilège' of the King at the end of the book". Also accompanied by a manuscript note in pencil. - Museum of the Order of St. John copy fire-damaged on pages 198 to 202, with part of the text on pages 201 and 202 replaced by a manuscript copy of the text glued to p. 202 (in two different hands).
