The author Noè Bianco travelled to Palestine before 1470 and was inspired in his work by another Italian traveller Niccolo da Poggibonzi (1346 -1350). The guide contains numerous woodcuts depicting views of Italian & Middle Eastern (such as Venice, Rhodes, Cairo, Jerusalem and Corfu), as well as monuments and animals native to the lands visited. It also includes views of Jerusalem and the Temple of Solomon, as well as lists of relics in Venetian churches.
