Printer's device of Jean de Tournes et Guillaume de Gazeau on title page: two vipers, one of which bites the other's head, form two concentric circles in the middle of which is engraved the motto 2Quod tibi fieri non vis, altieri ne feceris".

An account of the author's travels to the near East, dedicated to François III de La Rochefoucauld (1521-1572), with the coat of arms of the Rochefoucauld family at the back of the title page (Burelé d'argent et d'azur, à trois chevrons de gueules brochant sur le tout, le premier écimé). Contains an ode from Francois de Belleforest to the author inserted before the preface.
